Role and Responsibilities
As part of the store’s leadership team, you will help manage daily operations, support merchandising efforts, and provide exceptional customer service. Key duties include:
- Assist in recruiting and training new team members.
- Oversee merchandise flow through staging, stocking, and organizing inventory.
- Set up product displays in accordance with company standards and leadership direction.
- Use store signage, fixtures, and pricing tools to properly present merchandise.
- Conduct inventory tasks such as markdowns, scanning, and reporting damages.
- Help plan and execute inventory counts, ensuring stock levels are maintained through proper ordering practices.
- Deliver outstanding service to customers and ensure policy compliance across store operations.
- Participate in store opening and closing routines.
- Follow all company guidelines for handling and depositing cash.
- Maintain accountability at the register, ensure key control, and adhere to all safety protocols.
- Keep the store clean, well-organized, and safe for both employees and shoppers.
- Take on leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Review store performance reports and help identify operational improvements.
- Complete required paperwork and documentation promptly and accurately.
Required Skills and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One year of retail experience preferred for external applicants.
- Ability to read and apply written procedures, safety protocols, and operating manuals.
- Basic arithmetic and understanding of cash handling procedures.
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques and inventory practices.
- Familiarity with facility safety, cash control, and security procedures.
- Understanding of compliant hiring, interviewing, and staff management practices.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Capable of addressing problems in situations where established solutions may not exist.
- Spanish-speaking ability preferred in select locations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with IBM POS systems and performance report generation.
- Ability to facilitate communication between store operations and support functions.
- Demonstrated success in coaching, training, and developing staff members.
- Understanding of retail operations, including inventory movement, staffing, and ordering cycles.
