In this role, you will work under moderate supervision to assist the store management team with daily operations. As a Retail Sales Supervisor, you will provide exceptional guest service experiences that align with GameStop's buying, selling, trading, and reserving business model. This position emphasizes maintaining a welcoming shopping environment, boosting sales through your gaming knowledge, and fostering customer loyalty.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver exceptional guest service: greet guests warmly, address their questions/concerns swiftly and courteously, help them find their desired gaming products, and inform them of special promotions. Show genuine gratitude for choosing GameStop.
- Enhance the shopping atmosphere by ensuring the store is visually appealing and operationally sound while building relationships that drive sales and repeat business.
- Accurately handle guests' purchases and returns using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system to maintain a high standard of service.
- Address guest inquiries either in person or over the phone in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner.
- Promote GameStop's guest benefits, including the reservations program and Pro Rewards loyalty program.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store, including all areas as per company guidelines.
- Complete Omni-Channel orders daily and assist in inventory control and loss prevention practices.
- Conduct inventory counts and ensure proper merchandising on the sales floor.
- Support management in achieving sales goals and completing necessary administrative duties.
- Accurately manage daily business transactions in the POS system; assist management with cash and change needs.
- Inspect shipments for discrepancies and report any issues to the management team.
- Supervise Sales Associates in the absence of management, delegating tasks appropriately.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures effectively.
- Follow all opening and closing protocols diligently.
- Provide constructive feedback on associate performance to management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- At least 1 year of experience in retail sales, guest service, or management is preferred.
- Familiarity with video games is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and remain on your feet for extended periods.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Exceptional guest service abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Must meet performance expectations, including attendance and professional appearance.
- Basic math skills and ability to alphabetize merchandise.
- Self-motivation and ability to collaboratively complete tasks on time.
- Strong problem-solving and judgment abilities.
- Follow detailed instructions accurately.
- Maintain safety when handling bank deposits.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with availability for at least 3 days a week.
- Capability to manage stress effectively while ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Physical ability to bend, stoop, reach, lift merchandise weighing up to 30 lbs., and stand for extended periods.
