Job Description
We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an Extruder Tech. This role is ideal for someone with some mechanical experience who is eager to learn and grow within our organization. The position offers regular hours from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM with a competitive starting pay rate of $18.00 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the operation and maintenance of the extrusion equipment used in our manufacturing process.
- Monitor equipment performance and operation to ensure smooth and efficient production.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance tasks on extrusion equipment, such as cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.
- Assist with setup and changeovers of extrusion machinery for different product specifications.
- Work closely with the Extruder Technician to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
- Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Keep accurate records of production activities, equipment downtime, and maintenance tasks performed.
- Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge of extrusion processes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the extrusion area, including cleaning up spills and debris.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure production goals are met.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Some mechanical experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Basic understanding of machinery operation and maintenance principles.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed.
- Flexibility to work overtime or weekends occasionally, as production demands require.
