Role Overview
As the Store Operations Leader, you will oversee important areas including safety, customer service, operational excellence, financial performance, and human resources throughout the store. You are expected to lead by example, uphold the company’s mission, and deliver exceptional service while achieving targeted results.
Key Responsibilities
As a Store Operations Leader, your main responsibilities will include:
- People Leadership:
- Manage recruitment, hiring, coaching, and terminating of associates.
- Foster an open communication culture by engaging with associates and acting on their feedback.
- Create and manage the store schedule while collaborating with team input.
- Support associate development through performance reviews, recognition programs, and training initiatives.
- Delegate effectively and encourage associates to achieve their individual potential.
- Communicate store objectives and align team efforts accordingly.
- Address associate grievances and provide solutions.
- Celebrate team successes and cultivate a positive work environment.
- Store Experience:
- Enhance the associate and pet parent experience by ensuring a safe and healthy environment.
- Address customer inquiries and escalated concerns to ensure satisfaction.
- Maintain store standards and compliance with company policies.
- Engage in continuous process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with local community partners for events and outreach.
- Conduct regular assessments of store procedures to ensure quality and safety.
- Business Management:
- Execute corporate strategies and improve profitability through effective management.
- Analyze store performance metrics and communicate results to the team.
- Identify growth opportunities and track the store's financial targets.
- Manage labor and supply costs effectively.
- Submit and track store-related requests with corporate partners.
- Process payroll and maintain labor budgets.
Qualifications
- 4-6 years of leadership experience in a customer-focused retail environment.
- Full-time availability required, with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong proficiency in computer applications.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to stand, walk, climb a ladder, and engage in physical work as required.
- Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds; occasional team lifting of over 100 pounds.
- Exposure to various environmental conditions, including noise, pet hair, and potentially wet surfaces.
