Hospice Aide

Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Hospice Aides to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals receiving hospice services. The ideal candidate will support patients with dignity and respect, assisting with daily activities and ensuring comfort during their end-of-life journey. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives while working within a supportive healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with cleaning, and overall sanitation of patient areas
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient confidentiality and privacy at all times
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive hospice care tailored to each patient's needs
- Giving personal care including baths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos and changing bed linen as often as assigned.
- Assisting in dressing and undressing patients as assigned
- Assisting in feeding the patient as assigned.
Requirements
- Prior experience in hospice care, assisted living, nursing homes, or home health is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical documentation practices
- Certification in CPR is required; additional certifications such as medication administration.
- Ability to work compassionately with patients experiencing dementia or memory loss
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems ( Hospicemd )and HIPAA compliance standards
- Physical ability to assist with patient transfers using Hoyer lifts or similar equipment; capacity to lift and move patients safely
- Valid driver’s license preferred for community-based care roles
