Role and Responsibilities

As an Optician at Sam’s Club, you will provide expert guidance and technical support in eyewear fitting and prescription management. You will ensure accurate lens preparation, assist members with frame selection, and maintain compliance with optical standards.

• Measure and verify optical prescriptions for accuracy and suitability.
• Assist members in selecting frames and lenses based on prescription, lifestyle, and personal preference.
• Fit and adjust eyeglasses to ensure comfort, proper alignment, and correct vision.
• Prepare and dispense eyewear, including lenses and contact lenses, following all safety and quality protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, member orders, and product inventory.
• Provide exceptional customer service, addressing member questions and concerns professionally.
• Collaborate with the optical team to achieve department goals and improve workflow efficiency.
• Stay informed on new optical products, trends, and industry standards.

Required Skills and Experience

• Valid Optician license or certification as required by state regulations.
• Proven experience in fitting, adjusting, and dispensing eyeglasses and lenses.
• Strong knowledge of optical equipment, lens types, and prescription measurements.
• Proficient in using optical software and point-of-sale systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling prescriptions and orders.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to assist diverse members effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a retail or membership-based optical environment.
• Knowledge of contact lens fitting and maintenance.
• Additional certifications in advanced optics or eyewear technology.
