Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing patient records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and facilitating the efficient flow of information within our medical office. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and systems, as well as a commitment to maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of patient information.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain patient medical records in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of medical records by reviewing documentation for compliance.
  • Process requests for medical records from patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely updates to patient records.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to input, retrieve, and manage patient data.
  • Train staff on proper documentation practices and the use of medical record systems.
  • Conduct regular audits of medical records to identify areas for improvement.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding medical records while upholding patient confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of healthcare regulations.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is highly desirable.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and data security.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
